Born in Cairo, Egypt, Fr. Theodore (Michael) Mossaad moved to the United States in 1997 and grew up in Minnesota, where his upbringing was deeply shaped by strong mentors and spiritual guides. For years, he served as an active deacon and youth leader at St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church in St. Paul. Driven by a desire to better understand the intersection of the arts and faith, Michael earned his BA in Music and Religious Studies from the University of Minnesota in 2014. Following graduation, he dedicated much of his service to mentoring high school and college youth, ultimately prompting him to pursue further education to better address their theological and spiritual questions. In 2023, he received his Master of Theological Studies (MTS) from the Sts. Athanasius & Cyril Theological School (ACTS).

Michael’s journey is closely shared with his wife, Mariam Salama, whom he married in 2022. The couple spent three years in Washington, D.C., while Mariam completed medical school at George Washington University, before relocating to Cleveland, Ohio, in 2025 for her medical residency at University Hospitals. On August 8, 2026 Fr. Theodore was ordained to the priesthood to serve the altar and community of Sts. Peter & George Coptic Orthodox Church, Westlake, OH.
